Starting from the concept that describes Anita Mucolli's solo exhibition Limbo at Kulturfolger, Camille Lambelet developed a 5-course dinner. Based on his many years of experience in the demanding kitchens of Switzerland, he deconstructed each individual ingredient and experimented with their properties and malleability to finally achieve an original, new composition of the components. Consequently, the courses served at Transliminal took on their own very elusive shapes through the process of experimentation. The ingredients and recipes were withheld from the guests throughout the dinner so that in the face of the novel forms of the dishes, they had to rely above all on their sense of taste and smell and on their own personal repertoire of flavors, textures, and aromas. The idea was to create a state of abeyance in which the guests had to give up control and trust their own references.

At Kulturfolger, we've always been fascinated by the intersection of creative expression and philosophical concepts. And for our 2023 season, we're taking inspiration from one of the greatest humanist philosophers of all time: Dante.

Through our concept of Convivio, we'll explore the themes of community, knowledge, politics, love and the pursuit of truth through eight exhibitions and performances. But that's not all. We'll also host the Re-De-Fine Dinner, a banquet that celebrates the exchange of ideas over food, an artistic dining experience inspired by our current exhibitions. Join us on this intellectual and artistic journey of re-reading Dante and the power of art to ignite thought and reflection.
